COVID-19 Protocol

#1 GOAL: Our staff and our patients remain healthy through this COVID-19 pandemic. We are committed to keeping your health and safety as our top priority throughout this evolving situation by following the guidelines below.

Effective Immediately - STRICT policy regarding no one coming to work with any slight symptoms (see link https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/symptoms-testing/symptoms.html )

Office Protocol:

  • Effective Immediately, we have initiated a protocol where patients will be seen one-on-one so there is no gathering of patients in the office
  • We would like to encourage any visits to the office be by appointment only
  • Please do not come to the office and call to reschedule if you can answer yes to any of the following
    • You have traveled outside the United States in the last 14 days, especially to Europe, Asia, or the Middle East
    • You have any of the following symptoms
      • Elevated temperature of 100.4 or higher
      • Cough
      • Shortness of breath not related to chronic disease
    • You are living with someone quarantined (medically or self) or furloughed for COVID-19
    • You have been in contact with an individual positive for COVID-19
  • Follow sanitation guideline process after every visit. All patient contact surface areas are being cleaned and sanitized.
  • We are encouraging patients to wash their hands
  • Mask wearing – Wearing a mask in the office is not required. These are the guidelines from World Health Organization https://www.who.int/news-room/q-a-detail/q-a-coronaviruses

Only wear a mask if you are ill with COVID-19 symptoms (especially coughing) or looking after someone who may have COVID-19. Disposable face mask can only be used once. IF you are not ill or looking after someone who is ill, then you are wasting a mask. There is a worldwide shortage of masks, so the World Health Organization urges people to use masks wisely. The World Health Organization advises rational use of medical masks to avoid unnecessary wastage of precious resources and misuse of masks (see advice on the use of masks). The most effective ways to protect yourself and others against COVID-19 are to frequently clean your hands, cover your cough with the bend of your elbow or tissue and maintain a distance of at least 1 meter (3 feet) from people who are coughing or sneezing.
